China to California in fifteen minutes.  That’s the potential of hypersonic jets being developed in China.  Soon the Chinese will begin research and development to produce hypersonic speeds up to Mach 36.  That is the fastest known hypersonic project in the world.  Projects in the United States are comparable.  It is possible that hypersonic jets will make commercial flights in thirty years.  See our post

New York to London in under three and a half hours.  Half the present time.  that is what NASA, Lockheed Martin, Boom Technologies (see our post and others are working on.  That’s why it’s on our list top new innovations aviation.  The potential is exponential.  At least a hundred miles per hour faster than the Concorde was at a one thousand 300 miles per hour speed.  New innovation version should be much quieter.  ZEHST is a joint European and Japanese project  It stands for Zero Emission High Speed Transportation.  It aims to fly from Paris to Tokyo in two and a half hours.  Supersonic jets such as these should be flying commercially in the next few years.

Solar,  battery and electric powered aviation is exciting and very friendly to the environment.  While speed is not fast, their green power is. No fuel, no noise and perhaps most importantly no pollution.  Flying around the world without carbon emissions.  That is what the Solar Impulse has accomplished.  Our post Bayer podcast details it  Thus proclaiming that clean technologies can do more than was previously thought possible.

#4 Electric flights

Called the e-Genius and all electric motor powered by a single battery, this plane used no fuel and had no emissions.  Conceived by German engineers at the University of Stuttgart, the e-Genius recently flew nonstop three hundred miles.  In the summer of 2017 it flew at speeds of 142 miles per hour in Europe.  It cost about $3.00 to fly 300 miles and there were no emissions.  Some predict in twenty years electric planes will be able to carry 100 people.  Technical advances in the green area not only mean cheaper flights but help the environment.
